The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's Canada Tour Day Four - Part Two

The next stop was a project for young homeless people. Kate had made a quick outfit change into an Erdem number. The electric blue Jacquenta dress featured floral lace applique across the shoulders and sleeves and a split skirt. She accessorised with nude patent platform shoes and a matching mock-croc clutch bag.
It was the second time she'd worn a design by the Canadian-born British creator. On arrival in Ottawa last week, the Duchess was in a lacy number of his that also won plaudits.
At the drop in centre the couple managed to win themselves another fan - a punk with blue and green hair named Pierre. A circus skills student, he was thrilled when the Duke described his juggling as “awesome”.
The 24-year-old, who was living on the streets before the centre helped him find a home, was eager to praise the newlyweds, saying it was “special to meet them, a privilege”.
They were shown around the centre by Steven, 21, who wore a bullet through his earlobe. Competitive Prince William took Steven on in a game of table football, shouting “Come on the claret and blue”, in a reference to Aston Villa, the football team he supports.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's Canada Tour Day Two Part Two

Wherever they go the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge win over those they meet with their charm. The rapturous reception they've received across the Atlantic is testament to their universal appeal. But it's not just the couple's approachability, or even Kate's sartorial style, that's made them such a hit.

The newlyweds are clearly very much in love and more than anything enjoy spending time in each other's company as was clear at Friday's Canada Day concert.

Despite joining some 100,000 people on Parliament Hill for the music event, the happy couple only had eyes for each other.

They exchanged loving glances as they smiled and applauded the pop acts, and frequently leant in to make comments to one another.

William and his wife enjoyed the concert for half an hour before leaving to attend a private event.

Kate looked radiant in a vibrant purple Issa jersey dress, which she teamed with black satin court shoes and a matching clutch bag.

She was still sporting the glittering marple leaf brooch lent her by the Queen for the tour.

Prince William looked dapper in a navy suit and a crisp white shirt.

Their stay in Ottawa is just the beginning of the nine-day North America tour in which they will visit several cities across the Commonwealth nation and its neighbour.

[United Kingdom] The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge both in military style for first military role as husband and wife

The Duchess of Cambridge will take on her first military role as a royal today as she hands out operational medals to members of the Irish Guards.

Alongside the Duke of Cambridge, who is Colonel of the Irish Guards, Kate will present medals to soldiers who have recently returned from serving in Afghanistan.

A royal aide said the Duchess was very pleased to be undertaking the role for a regiment 'so close to her husband's heart'.

The 1st Battalion Irish Guards returned in April from a six-month tour in Afghanistan where they were deployed to 22 different locations in Helmand Province, tasked with developing the Afghan Army.

Six soldiers returned home two weeks before the royal couple's wedding day and had ceremonial duties to perform in London on the day.

Before the medal parade, at Victoria Barracks in Windsor, William and Kate will meet privately with the families of three fallen servicemen and William will present them with posthumous Elizabeth Cross medals.

It is the first time that the couple have visited the regiment since William became Colonel of the Irish Guards in February.

He also wore the regiment's striking red uniform on his wedding day. William is the Irish Guards' first royal colonel and its Colonel-in-Chief is the Queen. The regiment was formed on April 1, 1900, by order of Queen Victoria is response to the courageous actions of Irish regiments in the Second Boer War.

The unit was heavily involved in the ceremonial duties but its servicemen are also fighting soldiers.

She seems to be wearing a military coated, very similar to this one found on Net-a-porter.

The eternal royal fashion twins

Princess Mathilde, the Duchess of Brabant, attended her sister - Countess Hélène d'Udekem d'Acoz's - wedding this weekend looking pretty much like... Princess Maxima of the Netherlands when she attended Prince William's wedding at the end of April. Both colours, style and turbans are almost a match. More on that wedding later.

Prince Albert of Monaco and Charlene Wittstock shine at annual AmFar Gala

He has a well-known connection to Hollywood through his late mother Grace Kelly. So, for Prince Albert, a night mingling with the toast of Tinsletown provided the perfect setting for some fun and frivolity. The Monagasque royal attended the annual Amfar gala in Cannes accompanied by his elegant bride-to-be Charlene Wittstock.

Shoulder to shoulder with the cream of Hollywood, the betrothed couple were happy and relaxed as they partied together at the star-studded event.

Monaco's future princess looked radiant in a dove grey Giorgio Armani gown that complemented her delicate features and porcelain skin.

She has frequently been compared to Princess Grace, who lit up silver screens in the 1950s, exuding the glamour and poise associated with the golden age of cinema.

With less than two months to go until their big day, Charlene and Albert had every reason to celebrate at the gala evening.

Charlene was in a playful mood, giggling frequently throughout the event as she chatted to fellow invitees, including Naomi Campbell and Albert's niece Charlotte Casiraghi, who whom she clearly has a close friendship.

And her demeanour evidently rubbed off on her prince, who danced alongside her during one of the evening's musical performances.

It wasn’t just the couple's fancy footwork made evident at the charity event - so too was their generosity.

Top lot at the night's famous auction was the chance to play tennis with Prince Albert, for which a bidder paid 500,000 euros.

And former Olympian swimmer Charlene raised the same amount with an impromptu offer of a private swimming lesson, taking the royal pair's total contribution to the gala to one million euros.

The tactile 33-year-old, who stayed close to her prince throughout the evening, also placed the winning 60,000 euro bid on Moet & Chandon's Nebuchadnezzar Champagne in a gold-leafed bottle.
