[Monaco] Charity Auction for World AIDS Day with Princess Stephanie, Prince Albert II & Princess Charlene

On the occasion of the World AIDS Day on Dec.1, Prince Albert II of Monaco and Princess Charlene joined HSH Princess Stephanie of Monaco for a charity auction.

Around 50 pieces of art, including paintings, sculptures and photography was auctioned. An exclusive picture of Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene during the Royal Monaco wedding was also included in the collection.

Princess Charlene looked stunning in a knee-length black, which she paired with black stilettos and a matching clutch. This is the second time that the princess joined her sister-in-law for the annual World AIDS Day program.

Princess Stephanie is the President of the Fight AIDS Monaco and has fought passionately for the cause. Every year, the foundation holds a charity auction, the proceeds of which are used for the various programs and campaigns adopted by the Fight AIDS Monaco. Besides this, they are also used to assist poor countries like Madagascar and Haiti.

[Monaco] First National Day for Charlene as a Princess

It was arguably the biggest event since her wedding in July of this year. But Princess Charlene of Monaco was the epitome of cool as she celebrated her nation's first National Day in an official capacity.

The blonde South African has accompanied Prince Albert to the celebrations in previous years, but this was her first appearance as a princess.

And, despite having to recently deny runaway bride reports on a US chat show, Albert and Charlene looked blissfully happy as they led the festivities.

The morning ceremonies saw the pair take to the balcony in Monaco Palace Square.

Elegant in beige, Charlene smiled and waved to the crowds in the square below as Albert stood proudly by her side.

The royals looked close as they exchanged intimate smiles and entwined hands in a show of unity.

It was a family affair as Albert's sisters - Princess Stephanie and Caroline – strolled alongside their new sister-in-law during the parade.

Caroline's daughters, Charlotte Casiraghi and Alexandra were also in attendance.

The patriotic party culminated in a concert at the Grimaldi forum where Charlene opted for muted glamour in a brown, floor length gown and sleek up-do.

Then the princess was presented a bouquet of flowers by children dressed as Pierrots.

Stephanie of Monaco: Charlene [Wittstock] will make a 'dream' sister-in-law

What a year it is for royal weddings. Not only will 2011 mark the nuptials between William and Kate and Zara and Mike, but also the highly-anticipated marriage of Prince Albert of Monaco and his long-term love Charlene Wittstock.

And one lady particularly thrilled by Albert's long-awaited union is his youngest sibling Princess Stephanie, who this week declared her affection for his striking bride-to-be.

Speaking to Le Parisien newspaper, Stephanie said she and Charlene enjoy "very very good relations", touchingly adding: "I couldn’t dream of a better sister-in-law".

Asked whether she is involved in the upcoming wedding, taking place at the beginning of July, the twice-divorced princess replied: "Well, no, but that's OK."

Albert and Charlene, 32, are "taking care of it all", Stephanie, 45, added. "I am planning on enjoying this great moment of happiness for my country, my brother and for all the Monegasque people.

"I am very happy for them. Like all little sisters, I want to see my brother happy. It’s a demonstration of their love and happiness that I'm seeing, which has been theirs for a little while now."

After a change in date, 52-year-old Albert – the only son of Grace Kelly and Prince Ranier III - and Charlene are set to wed on July 2nd during a civil ceremony, followed by a religious service the following day.

The former South African swimming champion and her prince announced their engagement in June after a four-year courtship.

Prince Albert's fiancée Charlene is a hit with the children at Monte Carlo Christmas party

She's been learning all about royal protocol, and has life of hosting statesmen and celebrities when they visit Monaco ahead of her. And this week Charlene Wittstock had one of her most joyous duties as the principality's next first lady - handing out gifts at a children's Christmas party at the royal palace in Monte Carlo.

Joining the attractive South African and her fiancé Prince Albert at the festive giveaway were his sisters, Princesses Caroline and Stephanie.

And it looked like seeing the excited expressions on the faces of the youngsters had warmed her heart as the royals handed out presents and sung carols.

A little over 50 years ago a glamorous blonde arrived at Saint Nicholas Cathedral in Monte Carlo to marry Prince Rainier, thus becoming a princess of Monaco. That bride was Grace Kelly. This week, another ice-cool blonde, Charlene Wittstock was on the steps of the 19th-century cathedral, attending Monaco's National Day, with Princess Grace's son in what almost seemed like a dress rehearsal for their lavish nuptials set for next July. Dipping a low curtsy before Monaco's Archbishop, Charlene, a former Olympic swimmer, who represented her native South Africa, seemed to have mastered her future role as Prince Albert's consort perfectly. From her elegant headgear and nip-waisted suit to her court shoes, the 32–year-old looked very much the part of the princess-to-be. Inside the cathedral, she took her place alongside her future sisters-in-law, Princesses Caroline and Stephanie, in a pew decorated with flowers in the principality's colours - red and white. Caroline's husband Ernst of Hanover was not present – his absence appearing to confirm speculation that the couple's marriage has broken down. Despite her own marital difficulties, the princess has shown herself to be delighted at her brother's happiness and seemed at ease with Charlene's inclusion for the first time on such a key occasion. Also brightening her day was the fact that her children, Charlotte, Alexandra, Pierre and Andrea, joined the senior royals on the balcony of the palace to greet wellwishers. Although the House of Grimaldi has ruled Monaco since 1297, the November 19 holiday celebrates the date when the state's sovereignty was officially recognized by the Franco-Monegasque Treaty of 1861.
