As we confirm that she cannot be left to rest in peace, let's hope that wherever she is right now, she is happy and proud about her boys as of this day.

[United Kingdom] Prince Philip and the Queen join PM David Cameron and wife Samantha for Downing Street lunch
For the first time in nine years, the Queen and Prince Philip paid a visit to 10 Downing Street. Prime Minister David Cameron and his wife Samantha invited the Duke of Edinburgh for a special 90th birthday lunch of stilton and watercress tarts, roast Scottish beef, and peaches with ice cream. Samantha encouraged the ever modest Philip to step out from the background and pose for a photo on the doorstep of their London residence. There was no discussion of politics and the lunch remained a light-hearted celebration of the Prince's landmark birthday.
The PM recently displayed his affection for the Duke in a House of Commons speech describing him as a man with a "down-to-earth, no nonsense approach that the British people often find enduring."
After listing his many humanitarian and military acheivments, Mr Cameron cut the speech short because, quoting Philip, "the mind cannot absorb what the backside cannot endure." The royal family gathered for the official celebration at Windsor castle earlier this month

Happy Birthday, Princess Désirée of Sweden, Baroness Silfverschiöld!
Celebrating these birthdays here at RO are also a way to take a look into royals I would never talk about if it wasn't their birthday. On June 2nd, Princess Désirée celebrated her 73rd birthday. Who is she, you might ask? Well, the Baroness Silfverschiöld is King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden's sister!
Here is what I found on Wikipedia Our Savior about her: Désirée Elisabeth Sibylla (born 2 June 1938), was born at Haga Palace outside Stockholm. She is the third child of Prince Gustaf Adolf, Duke of Västerbotten, and Princess Sibylla of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, and granddaughter of King Gustaf VI Adolf of Sweden. Her brother is King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden. Princess Désirée's engagement to Baron Nils-August Otto Carl Niclas Silfverschiöld, born at Koberg Castle, Sweden on 31 May 1934, son of Baron Carl Silfverschiöld and wife Madeleine Bennich, was announced on 18 December 1963, and the couple married the next year on 5 June 1964 in Storkyrkan in Stockholm. As a result of her unequal marriage, she lost her style of Royal Highness and became Princess Désirée, Baroness Silfverschiöld. They have had 3 children together.
Princess Désirée, Baroness Silfverschiöld lives on the Silfvershiöld family's castle Koberg. She tries to stay out of the public eye, but when she is asked she often accepts official engagements on behalf of the Swedish Royal Family (which occur one or a few times a year). She and her husband are every now and then invited to the official dinners that The King and Queen host, and sometimes also to the dinners connected to state visits to Sweden. She is also Crown Princess Victoria's godmother.

Happy Birthday, Prince Christian of Hanover!
On June 1st, Prince Christian of Hanover celebrated his 26th birthday. He is the Prince Ernst-August of Hanover second son and, let's say it, quite good looking. Can you imagine being at a table with him and his stepbrothers, the Casiraghis?
Yeah, let's not imagine that. Happy birthday to him, and we are glad to have him on our Royal Bachelors list ;)

Happy Birthday, Crown Prince Frederik! (take a look of him as a baby too!)
Happy 43rd birthday to Denmark's heir to the throne!
Have a look at him and his dad's excitement when he was born here.

Happy Birthday, Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands (and happy wedding anniversary too!)
Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands (née Petra Laurentien Brinkhorst; born 25 May 1966 in Leiden, Netherlands) is the wife of Prince Constantijn of the Netherlands, the third son of Queen Beatrix. She is part of that crew of crazy and bubbly daughters-in-law the Queen has.
And it is not only her birthday she has been celebrating: 10 years ago, she married her Prince. The civil marriage was conducted by the mayor of The Hague, Wim Deetman, in the Oude Raadzaal, Javastraat, The Hague, on 17 May 2001.
The religious wedding took place two days later on 19 May in the Grote of St Jacobskerk, with Reverend Carel ter Linden officiating. I remember watching this wedding on TV5 Monde. I didn't live in France at that time yet, but came a few months after. Time flies!
Was a bit hard to put those rings on. But so cute!
They now have three children: Countess Eloise (born June 8th, 2002), Count Claus-Casimir (born March 21st, 2004) and Countess Leonore (born June 3rd, 2006).

Double birthday in Liechtenstein: second (even if first time-wise, but whatever), Prince Alfons turned 10!
Ahhh, this time, I have some pictures, even if he was just a little guy, but already the cutest.
Prince Alfons Maria Constantin of Liechtenstein was born on May 18th, 2001, in London, just two days after his dad's 32nd birthday. In fact, he is the son of Prince Max and Princess Angela of Liechtenstein - yes, the one that drinks something we do not know what it is but that is keeping her really young!
Double birthday in Liechtenstein: first, Prince Benedikt (born in 2008)
I just spent a few hours looking but just could not find a picture of little Prince Benedikt, son of Prince Constantin, son of Prince Hans-Adam II of Liechtenstein, who turned 3 on May 18th.
So, to compensate my frustration, I am putting up a few photos of Prince Constantin when he got married to his wife, Marie von Kálnoky von Köröspatak, now styled Princess Marie of Liechtenstein. They married civilly in Vaduz on 14 May 1999 (oh, another wedding anniversary on that date!) and religiously in Cicov, Slovakia, on 18 July 1999.
Hope that next year, I will have a photo of the little guy.

Happy Birthday, Princess Maxima! (and this is not just any birthday...!)
Hail to the (future) Queen! Princess Maxima is turning 40 today.
To celebrate the occasion, the palace issued new pictures of her such as the above one. Stunning Princess. And are we not used to see her smile!
May has been an eventful month for the wife of Prince of Orange. First, there was much debate about her being just a Consort Princess of a Queen when Willem-Alexander turns King. Then, on a happier note, an exhibition to celebrate her first 10 years in the Netherlands opened.

How old are the European Hereditary & Crown Princes and Crown Princesses?
Belgium
Princess Mathilde is 38. Her husband, the Duke of Brabant, turned 51 last month.

Crown Prince Frederik will turn 43 at the end of the month. His wife Princess Mary is 39.
Alois, the Hereditary Prince, is 42. His wife Sophie, the former Duchess of Bavaria, is 43.
Luxembourg

Monaco
Well... complicated situation, but as PA2 still has no legitimate children, his older sister, Caroline of Monaco, Princess of Hanover, is the Hereditary Princess. She is 54. And now that I am thinking about it, the next regent of Monaco will be really young, if we consider Charlene gets pregnant in the 3 years. Okay, let's not plan ahead.
The Netherlands
This post is a bit dedicated to her, as tomorrow, Princess Maxima is turning 40. Her husband, the Prince of Orange, just turned 44.
Norway
Both Crown Prince Haakon and Princess Mette-Marit, born a month apart, are 37. What a synchrony those two!

Happy Birthday, Prince Maximilian of Liechtenstein!
Prince Max here pictured with his wife, Princess Angela
Today is Prince Maximilian of Liechtenstein's 42nd birthday! Congratulations to him!
(by the way, can you believe his wife is 53? She looks so young!)
He studied Business Economics at the EBS and did an MBA at Harvard Business School. He is currently the CEO of the Liechtenstein Global Trust (LGT). You can check his resume here.
How did Crown Prince Frederik and Princess Mary celebrate their 7th wedding anniversary?
They went for a dinner date out in town, in a fancy neighborhood in Copenhagen.
For once, CP Mary was not wearing sky-high heels but some shiny brogues that I personally use and love!
Happy Birthday, Zara Phillips!
2011 surely is a big year for Zara: she turns 30 today and is getting married to longtime boyfriend Mike Tindall in a few weeks. Wishing her nothing but the best!

Happy Birthday to Crown Prince Moulay Hassan and Lalla Salma of Morocco!
Last year celebration, with King Mohammed VI holding the birthday boy.
I am terribly late on this one, but better late than ever! On May 8th, Crown Prince Moulay Hassan celebrated his 8th birthday and two days after, his mother Lalla Salma celebrated her 33rd!
As I was looking into photos on the internet, I noticed they have been having this huge 3-tier cake tradition.

Baby Lalla Khadija's 4th birthday celebration back in February.
This year's celebration for CP Moulay Hassan, with his sister Lalla Khadija holding him.
Aren't those kids absolutely stunning?
